My friend and neighbor has two beautiful white horses that I have been meaning to photograph for months. I’ve tried to photograph them before, but they have often been skittish around my camera–and I am often skittish about traipsing uninvited (although not unwelcome) onto Nancy’s property with my dogs on our morning walks. Today I said what the hell…the light was beautiful, I had a portrait lens on the camera, the dogs were tired, and Nancy emerged from her house with her characteristic smile and welcome.
I’m not sure I did these beautiful animals any justice whatsoever, but I just loved the morning light and the rustic tones in this simple snapshot.
