I know that this is a shot that has been done many times before, just not by me 🙂 I fiddled around with Topaz filters and liked the effect of the “Smooth” filter in Topaz Adjust. It made the sky–which was only blue and cloud-dappled for a short while this afternoon–look dramatic and somewhat surreal.
I don’t generally like to monkey around with my photos too much, as I find many of the plug-ins available today make things look too gimmicky. But sometimes, when my photos bore me, plug-ins can bolster my enthusiasm by just making things fun.
