Ventured solo to Ta Prohm this morning (no one else in the family wanted another 4:45 am wake up call–can’t say I blame them). It is perhaps the most interesting of the Angkor temples, largely because of the spectacular banyan trees choking the ruins. My guide told me that the restoration team is planning on removing most of the trees in order to conserve the structure–which is both understandable…and a crying shame.
