I wandered up to Times Square this morning, figuring it would be a good place for some street photography. According to a cop I overheard, this group of people behind the police barrier had arrived here at 3 AM to get these front row spots for the ball drop. They look fresh and enthusiastic here, but one wonders what state they will be in by midnight. With a strong aversion to standing lines of any kind, I’m not sure what to think of this gang…at the very least you have to admire their stamina. (And as a photographer, I also have to admire the sheer exuberant color of Times Square.)
And an odd assortment from my walk around the city after leaving the mad crush of Times Square….
