Today I found this juxtaposition of the Sherry-Netherland Hotel, the Apple Store and a man in a straw hat on Fifth Avenue rather delicious. It is so rare to see a man in a traditional suit and hat these days, it makes me want to travel back to the 1950s when the streets were teeming with men in fedoras and trench coats, and women in dresses and pantyhose. Of course, in that scenario I’d have to forgo that gorgeous $6.6 million scrim of glass (that our iPhones have paid for), which served up a perfect background for today’s protagonist.
