It was another hot, hot day but the sky was beautiful so I headed for the cemetery to capture one of the angels that grace the headstones. This was a nice shot straight out of the camera, but my husband voted for this version with a texture overlay, thinking that it gave the shot a little mystery.
I should add here that today marks my half-way mark in this photo-a-day marathon. I considered waxing philosophic about what this project has meant to me (the good and the bad), but I think I’ll save that treatise for day 365. Suffice it to say that on most days, I love this challenge, mostly because it forces me to be so open to and aware of the world around me.
Of course, on my worst days, I feel the project has ruined my life. But on my best days, being out with my camera is like the Zen practice of mindful walking–meditative, calming and tremendously gratifying.
Now, on to the next six months.
