One would think I’d have exhausted the photographic options at this greenhouse by now, but the light and weather are ever-changing and there is always a new way to look at this wonderful old structure; today with a wide angle lens, straight up towards the gloomy sky.
But I didn’t stop at this; I headed into the basement of this old building and found the grubby office unlocked; what a treasure of quirky vignettes I found there! I think this first one is my favorite; the tacky, slightly pornographic bas-relief of a zaftig torso, then Che Guevara, then the edict allowing dogs in the park that I so love and frequent every day–with my dogs. Perfect.
…and a stopped clock…
…and a newspaper clipping of a very young and handsome Jack Nicholson on an otherwise completely bare bulletin board…
And finally, this funny little key rack…I love that the missing keys are for the somewhat alarming “Blue Pesticide Cabinet” and the entirely benign “Paper Towel Dispenser.”
