We hired a boat today to take us down the coast to the Cinque Terre, a group of five towns on the Italian Riviera famous for their charm and relative isolation–they can only be reached by train or on foot. This is Riomaggiore, the fifth and most beautiful of the towns (at least from our vantage point). We had lunch in Vernazza, the second in the string, and the only one with a viable harbor. I threw my low-carb diet to the wind and feasted on trofie al pesto, a local specialty that was worth every starchy calorie.
And what man (or photographer) can’t relate to this guy?
