This is another photo from my “safety shot” repertoire (and from my oft-photographed local greenhouse). I’ve photographed this rusty old faucet on several occasions and I’m not sure why I find it so appealing, but I do. My local park and this greenhouse have been my muse of late, but I’m starting to feel like I’ve nearly exhausted their possibilities. I think I’ll devote this week to laying all these safety shots to rest, so while they may not be fantastic–there’s a reason they’re often a second or third choice for my photo of the day–they’re quick and easy, which is about all I can handle this week. I’ve been really busy packing and getting ready to decamp to Nantucket for a month, where my husband needs to get working on a big rewrite of his second stock market book. He wrote the first edition on Nantucket when the children were young, and it’s a wonderful place to get away from the office and write…and a place I’m just itching to photograph.
