Day three of the Joel Meyerowitz workshop; a good part of the day was spent reviewing everyone’s work, but we had a guest appearance from Colin Westerbeck, the former curator of photography at the Art Institute of Chicago. The great thing about this class is that I feel that I’m really learning how to look at and read photographs, and the exercise is giving me a much deeper understanding of photography in general and my own work in particular.
This afternoon’s trip was to the “other side of the tracks” in Palm Springs, inasmuch as Palm Springs has a neighborhood that can be characterized as such. I loved this funny Mutt and Jeff palm tree portrait.
And last, but not least, I mustered the courage to walk into this odd little tailor’s shop and photograph people for a change.
